The Russia-Ukraine war continues. Russian troops are constantly firing missiles at Ukrainian cities. Meanwhile, efforts are on to stop the war. The US and many other countries are with Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelensky appealed to the leaders of the three countries for help to end the war.

Zelensky urged Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Turkish President Erdogan, and French President Emmanuel Macron to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war. The leaders of the three countries spoke to Putin over the telephone. Despite this, the rust could not be put to a halt.

Putin has two reasons for not ending the war

Putin is not trying to stop the war. There are two reasons for this. First - Putin does not trust America and Europe. Putin thinks that America wants to surround Russia on the pretext of Europe. Ukraine wants to join the US-dominated North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This could pose a security threat to Russia. With this, Ukraine has demanded membership of the European Union (EU).

The important agreement of NATO and EU is that if any member country comes under fire, then all the countries will fight together. That is, an external attack against any of its countries would be considered an attack against all its allies. Therefore, as soon as Ukraine becomes a NATO member, Russia will be surrounded by NATO countries from all sides. This would give America the freedom to attack Russia directly.

Russia needs status

The second reason is status. Putin wants the same status that Russia had in the Soviet Union. Recently, Russia's economy has collapsed. After the Second World War, the Soviet Union was emerging as a major power. Russia wanted to dominate the European countries. Due to this, relations of Russia with European countries deteriorated. America wants to take advantage of this condition of Russia, so it wants Ukraine to become a member of NATO and the EU. With this America can emerge as the biggest power.

Russia should not target nuclear plants - President Emmanuel

If Ukraine agrees to terms, the war will end
