Posted on 22nd Feb 2023 05:26 pm by rohit kumar

Jail Bharo Tehreek of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is starting today. Under this, workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party will take to the streets in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. During this, more than 200 Imran supporters can be detained. Earlier, PTI chief Imran Khan had posted a video message on social media. He appealed to his supporters to give arrests and end the atmosphere of fear. PTI is doing this movement on the issue of human rights violations, rising inflation, and debt negotiations with the IMF.

PTI supporters will also hold rallies in various cities of the country like Faisalabad, Kasur, and Sheikhupura on Wednesday. On the other hand, Section 144 has been implemented in Lahore on Wednesday because of PTI's Jail Bharo movement. Under the first phase of the movement, some leaders of PTI including former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfaraz Cheema, MP Waleed Iqbal, etc. can be arrested. As part of the agitation, hundreds of PTI workers will march from Mall Road to Jail Road in Lahore on Wednesday and submit themselves to arrest. According to the news, if the Pakistani government does not arrest the PTI workers, then the PTI workers will also protest outside the Punjab Legislative Assembly.

After Lahore, PTI supporters will also hold jail-filling agitation in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gunjawala, Sargodha, and Sahiwal. Earlier, Imran Khan had announced to start Jail Bharo movement on 22 February on Friday. Imran has accused the government of delaying elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the provincial assemblies have been dissolved at both places, and if elections are not held within 90 days, then on the 91st day the caretaker government will be illegal and they will violate Article 6 of the Constitution.
