PM Modi: PM will inaugurate the terminal station in Jammu Railway Division, Telangana today, also inaugurate the tallest cable bridge.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Jammu Railway Division and launch several railway projects including a terminal station in Telangana through video conferencing on Monday. PM Modi will inaugurate Charlapally New Terminal Station in Telangana and lay the foundation stone of the Rayagada Railway Division building of East Coast Railway.

 

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh will also participate in the program organized at Jammu Railway Station premises. The division also includes the world's highest cable bridge over the Chenab River at Kauri. The bridge is 359 meters high from the river bed. Its length is 473.25 meters, which includes a 120-meter bridge and a central embankment of 94.25 meters. Jammu Division will manage the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project.

 

Charlapally New Terminal Station developed for 413 crore.

 

Charlapally New Terminal Station in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana has been developed at a cost of about Rs 413 crore. It has been designed as a new coaching terminal with provision for a second entry. The terminal has been provided with eco-friendly arrangements for better passenger amenities. This will help in decongesting existing terminals like Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kachiguda.

 

More than 700 policemen deployed from Katra to Banihal.

 

Preparations to start train service from Katra to Baramulla are almost complete. Train service can start on this track from this month itself. The train will run in a very sensitive area. Therefore, strict security arrangements have been made. For this, the state police have set up a separate railway unit from Katra to Banihal. However, it was approved in August 2024. Now more than 700 officers and personnel have been deployed in it. According to the information, the security of the Katra-Banihal railway section includes one SP, two DSPs, 4 inspectors, 18 sub-inspectors, 38 ASIs, and 520 police constables. At the same time, the headquarters of the Katra-Banihal section has been set up in Sangaldan of Ramban district. The office of ASP GRP Sangaldan has also been established here.
