A statement by Pitroda at the beginning of the Lok Sabha elections has again created controversy for the Congress. Pitroda has recently put the Congress party in trouble by mentioning the 'inheritance tax in America', after which PM Modi and BJP have adopted an aggressive stance.


 

PM's taunt on Congress

Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda, while speaking on PM Modi's 'redistribution of wealth' comment, said that there is a concept of inheritance tax in America, which means that 55 percent of a person's wealth is handed over to the government. Is given and not to their children.


 

After this statement of Pitroda, Congress soon called it his personal 'opinion'. However, this statement soon created a big controversy and PM Modi called it a ploy by the Congress to loot the people and sarcastically said that this is the loot of the Congress "with life, even after life."


 

Wrong comment on middle-class people before the 2019 elections

In a TV interview before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Pitroda had given such a statement on the middle class, which had shocked the party. He said the middle class should pay more taxes to guarantee a minimum income for poor families and that they should not be "selfish". After this statement, the Congress Party had to clarify that if Congress came to power, it would not impose any additional tax burden on the middle-class people.

Pitroda had also opposed the airstrike conducted by the Indian Army in Balakot, Pakistan. After his statement, Congress had to face sharp criticism.


 

Pitroda had said that there was an attack in Mumbai also and our government could have reacted then and sent its planes, but this is not the right approach. He said that it is wrong that because of the mistake of a few people, we should blame every citizen of Pakistan.
