South Indian superstar Prabhas is currently making headlines for his upcoming film ‘The Raja Saab’. Scheduled for release on January 9th, ‘The Raja Saab’ has now received significant relief from the court just one day before its release. The Telangana High Court has granted relief to the producers of ‘The Raja Saab’ regarding the issue of ticket price increases. Similarly, Mega Star Chiranjeevi's film 'Mana Shankara Var Prasad Garu' has also received relief.
The restriction was only on a limited number of films.
A division bench of Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar clarified that the previous order passed by a single judge on December 9th, which prohibited any increase in ticket prices, had a limited scope. The court commented that this restriction applied only to a few big films like ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Game Changer’, ‘OG’, and ‘Akhanda 2’. It does not apply to the films currently under consideration before the court. This makes it clear that ‘The Raja Saab’ and 'Mana Shankara Var Prasad Garu' do not fall under the purview of this restriction.
Arguments presented by the makers
The court has left the issue of increasing ticket prices for ‘The Raja Saab’ and 'Mana Shankara Var Prasad Garu' to the state government. During the hearing, the lawyers for the producers of these films informed the court that they had already informed the Home Department Secretary regarding permission to increase the number of shows and ticket prices. They urged the authorities to consider their applications as soon as possible. The producers also argued that the single judge's order is not valid in the eyes of the law and that continuing the restriction would cause serious harm to their interests.
‘The Raja Saab’ to release on January 9th

Directed by Maruthi, the film features Prabhas along with Nidhi Agarwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Riddhi Kumar in prominent roles. 'The Raja Saab' is a pan-India film that will be released in Telugu, along with Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
