Sambhal Jama Masjid case: ASI told the court- there was no need to paint the mosque, gave photographs to the court

The hearing was held in Allahabad High Court on the petition filed demanding the painting of Sambhal Jama Masjid. In compliance with the court's order, ASI has filed the investigation report. In the report, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) said that there is no need for the painting of the mosque. During the investigation, dirt and bushes were found in the mosque in some places, photographs of which were also filed by ASI in the court. The next hearing will be on March 4.

 

The court has directed ASI to clean the mosque and clear the bushes. At the same time, the Muslim side has taken time to file an objection against the investigation report of ASI. The Hindu side has also taken time to file an affidavit. Allahabad High Court has fixed March 4 as the date for the next hearing.

 

Statements of officials and victims will be recorded today in the Sambhal violence case.

 

On the other hand, a three-member team of the Judicial Inquiry Commission will be in the city on Friday to record statements in the case of the riot that took place on November 24 in Sambhal. The members of the commission will record the statements of common people in the PWD guest house of Sambhal. The team members will also stay in the district on Saturday and will also record statements from the officers and employees present during the riot.

 

It is known that a riot broke out during the Jama Masjid survey. Five people lost their lives in it. 29 policemen and many people were injured. The rioters fired at the police and committed arson and vandalism. Due to this incident, a three-member judicial inquiry commission was formed.
