The Income Tax Department raided Shilpa Shetty's restaurant in Mumbai on Thursday. According to news agency PTI, official sources said on Thursday that the Income Tax Department raided the offices of several food and beverage companies in Mumbai on charges of tax evasion, including a company associated with actress Shilpa Shetty. Sources said that the searches included some offices of a restaurant owned by Shilpa Shetty and some others. They denied that tax officials had raided her Mumbai residence. Tax officials said that the IT investigation has no connection to the FIR registered by the Maharashtra Police against Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra (on charges of fraud), nor is it related to the case registered by the Bengaluru Police against a local restaurant for allegedly operating beyond legal working hours.

Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty break their silence on the fraud case.

It is being reported that this Bengaluru restaurant is co-owned by Shilpa Shetty. The actress also holds ownership rights in this restaurant. Separately, Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, are also involved in legal disputes regarding an alleged ₹60 crore fraud case. Recently, Raj Kundra shared a post on social media clarifying his position on this case. He categorically denied the allegations against him. He also said that he has fully cooperated with the investigation and is confident that justice will prevail. Shilpa Shetty has also broken her silence amidst the ongoing investigation into the fraud case. She said that her name has been wrongly dragged into the matter. She stated that her role in the company in question was limited and non-operational.
