Sania Mirza announces retirement: will play last tournament in Dubai next month, has won 6 Grand Slams so far

Six-time Grand Slam winner Sania Mirza announced her retirement from tennis on Saturday. She said in an interview that the WTA 1000 event in Dubai would be her last tournament. Sania won the women's doubles Grand Slam thrice and the mixed doubles title thrice. She will play in the doubles of the Australia Open this month.

 

Sania, 36, announced her retirement last year as well. However, he later withdrew his announcement. On withdrawing his retirement in an interview given to tennis website wtatennis.com, he said, 'I did not want that I was away from tennis due to injury. So I extended my decision to retire and then started training.

 

There was news of Sania and Shoaib Malik's divorce

Sania is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. In November last year, there were reports of divorce from Shoaib Malik. However, nothing was said about this from both of them. Later Sania also shared a photo with Shoaib Malik. It is being said that now she will run an academy in Hyderabad and Dubai.
