On January 3, Team India will play the first match of 2023. The Sri Lankan team has come to India for T20 and ODI series. There are new faces in the team under the captaincy of Hardik for the first T20. Suryakumar has been made the vice-captain for the first time.

The first T20 is also being seen as a test for the youth. It is also being called the beginning of preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024. The team can experiment and come up with new strategies.

First look at the performance of 2022… won the most 46 matches

In 2022, Team India played 71 matches. 46 won and 21 lost. 1 match was tied while 3 could not result. Team India has won the maximum number of matches in a calendar year.

Leadership new, Surya vice-captain for the first time

The leadership of the team is new for the first T20 or say series of the year. The management has entrusted the responsibility of the first project of the year to Hardik Pandya. Suryakumar has been made his deputy. Surya has become the vice-captain of Team India for the first time.

Can win the first match of the year only once in 10 years

Talking about the last 10 years, Team India has won the first match of the year only once. In other words, our team has a very poor record in terms of winning the first match of the new year. The only win that came to our team in the first match of the new year was against England. In 2017, Team India defeated England by three wickets in ODIs.

Team India will play 43 matches apart from Asia Cup and World Cup

This year the Indian team will play 43 matches of the bilateral series. These include 18 ODIs, 17 T20s, and 8 Tests. The Asia Cup and World Cup matches are not included in these.
