Mumbai. Choreographer Saroj Khan, known as the Dancing Queen in Bollywood, died of a heart attack late Thursday at the age of 71. She was admitted to Bandra Hospital for several days due to shortness of breath. However, his corona test came negative.

 

 

His body was handed over to family in the night itself. His younger daughter Sukanya said that Ammi was handed over to the cemetery in Malad at 7 am because of the lockdown rules.

 

 

The family has decided that a prayer meeting will be held in his memory for three days. In Saroj's family, her husband B.V. Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan, has two daughters, Hina and Sukanya.

 

 

Was hospitalized on June 24

Saroj was ill since 24 June. He was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. He had trouble breathing. After this, the corona test was done. It was negative. After this, it was being said that his health is improving.

 

 

Saroj's dance steps were seen in 2000 songs

 

 

In a career spanning 40 years, Saroj Khan choreographed nearly two thousand songs. He also won the National Award three times. Saroj Khan has contributed to exposing new talent by becoming a judge in many reality shows like Nach Baliye ',' Maestro Ke Ustad ',' Nachle Way With Saroj Khan ',' Boogie-Woogie ',' Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa '.

 

 

Saroj's real name was Nirmala

 

 

Born in the house of Kishanchand Sandhu and Noni Singh, Saroj's real name was Nirmala Nagpal. He was born on November 22, 1948. After partition, Saroj's family migrated to India from Pakistan. Saroj started her career at the age of just 3 as a child artist film 'Nazrana'.

 

 

The first film was 'Geeta Mera Naam'

 

 

1974 Geeta Mera Naam was the first film to be choreographed by Saroj Khan. Sadhna was in the lead role in this film. Sridevi's Hawa-Hawaii (1987) in her film 'Mr. India' and Ek Do Teen Dance number filmed on Madhuri in 1988 'Tezaab' were huge hits. The 1992 film 'Beta' began to be hummed and Madhuri-Aishwarya's Dola Re Dola from 2002's 'Devdas' was her biggest hit dance number.

All the big actresses of Bollywood were seen dancing under his direction. Saroj Khan taught dance to actresses like Sadhana, Vyjayanthimala, Kumkum, Helen, Sharmila Tagore, Mala Sinha, Waheeda Rehman, Zeenat Aman to Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma, Urmila Tagore, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Sunny Leone. Madhuri was his favorite star. She also taught many dance actresses of the South.

Saroj Khan last choreographed for Karan Johar's multi-starrer film Kalank in April 2019. Its lyrics were 'devastated'. Her favorite actress Madhuri Dixit was also seen in this song.
