Since the arrival of the Taliban in Afghanistan, many terrorist organizations have become active around the world. To deal with these terrorist organizations, a meeting was held on Friday between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and its anti-terror body Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS). India hosted the meeting as SCO-RATS Chair. The SCO-RATS meeting has decided to counter terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
This team will now deal with the threats of international terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan. This decision was taken in the meeting of RATS held in Delhi. During this, officials from all the member countries including China and Pakistan participated.
The main objective of SCO-RATS is to counter-terrorism, and separatism in the region. The SCO provides a strong platform for India to stand firm on issues related to the fight against terrorism and security.
Military exercise in China next year
India's Deputy National Security Adviser Dattatreya Padsalgikar said that in the meeting it has been decided to conduct a military exercise next year. The name of this exercise is Solidarity - 2023. According to media reports, Solidarity - 2023 can be organized in China.
Under 'Solidarity-2023', it was decided to conduct a joint border operation with the border security forces of the SCO countries. Also, the process of implementing the earlier decisions of SCO-RATS was discussed in the meeting.
Kazakhstan to chair the SCO-RATS
Padsalgikar said- Will meet the challenges and threats posed by international terrorist organizations operating from Afghanistan. For this, the officials of SCO countries have approved a joint operation. He said that India has entrusted Kazakhstan with the responsibility of chairing the SCO-RATS in the meeting.
