Second phase of corona vaccination: 25 lakh people registered on the first day, more than 4 lakh people were vaccinated

Around 25 lakh people registered on the Co-Win portal on the first day of the second phase of Corona vaccination in the country. These include 24.5 lakh common people and the rest of healthcare and frontline workers. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 4 lakh 27 thousand 72 people were vaccinated with the corona till 7 pm on the 45th day (Monday) of vaccination that started on January 16 in the country. Of these, the first dose was given to 3 lakh 25 thousand 485 people and the second dose to one lakh one thousand 587 healthcare workers.

 

1.47 Crore Corona Dose Done

According to a provisional report by the Health Ministry, one lakh 28 thousand 430 people over the age of 60 were given the first dose of the corona vaccine on the first day. 18,850 people over the age of 45 who are suffering from serious illnesses were also vaccinated. So far, 1.47 crore corona doses have been given in the country.

 

In the second phase, 27 crore people will be vaccinated

In the second phase, people above 60 years of age will get the vaccine. With this, people who are between 45 and 60 years of age will also be vaccinated, who are suffering from serious diseases. The central government estimates that around 27 crore people fall into this category.

 

Vaccination at 24 thousand locales

People will be able to make an appointment at the center near their home. Currently, vaccination is taking place only in government hospitals and health centers. These are about 12 thousand. There will also be Ayushman Bharat Empanelled Hospitals or CGHS Hospitals, which are 12,000. In this way, there will be vaccination on a total of 24 thousand locales.

 

There will be no registration on the Cowin app

After the problems of registration on the Covin app on the first day to get the Corona vaccine, the Health Ministry said that instead of the Co-WIN app, take an appointment for vaccination on the website itself. The ministry said that the Cowin app is only for matters related to the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine. Not for registration and appointment. The Health Ministry said that if you have to register for vaccination and take an appointment, then go to http://cowin.gov.in.

 

PM Modi got vaccinated on the first day

On the first day of the second phase, several VVIPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, got vaccinated. Modi arrived in Delhi AIIMS early in the morning and got Bharat Biotech's Covaxin vaccine injected. At the same time, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also administered the first dose of the vaccine. Now 28 days later they will be given the second dose of vaccine.
