Around 50 tourists who reached the tourist destination Sonmarg to enjoy the snowfall have been rescued by the police. SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar said that when these tourists reached there to enjoy the snow lying in the upper area of Sonmarg, Gagangir, they got stuck there. Due to the thick blanket of snow on the road, the vehicles got stuck there. They came to know about these people after which Ganderbal Police launched a special operation these tourists were first brought from Gagangir to Sonmarg and there they were sent to Srinagar after providing relief material.

At the same time, six people who had gone on foot from Warwan village of district Kishtwar to Anantnag in South Kashmir have gone missing. On reaching Morgan Top, he had informed in his house that it was snowing a lot. This has been more than 24 hours. When the family members called again, they could not talk to anyone. In such a situation, he informed the army, after which an operation has been launched to find him.
