Around 50 tourists who reached the tourist destination Sonmarg to enjoy the snowfall have been rescued by the police. After the snowfall in Kashmir for the last two days, these tourists who came to see the snow in the high-altitude areas of Sonmarg were stuck there. Those who were rescued by the police by running a campaign. Meanwhile, six people of Warwan village on foot from district Kishtwar to Anantnag have gone missing amidst snowfall. The army has launched a special operation to find them. So far nothing has been found about the missing people.
SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar said that when these tourists reached there to enjoy the snow lying in the upper area of Sonmarg, Gagangir, they got stuck there. Due to the thick blanket of snow on the road, the vehicles got stuck there. They came to know about these people after which Ganderbal Police launched a special operation these tourists were first brought from Gagangir to Sonmarg and there they were sent to Srinagar after providing relief material.
The tourists trapped in the snow told them that when he was trapped in the snow, he was quite nervous. Everywhere he could see snow and ice. They thought that all of them would die fiercely in the snow here, but in this, the police personnel reached there. Seeing them come to life. They pulled out our vehicles stuck in the snow. First, we were brought to Sonmarg and later sent to Srinagar from there.
At the same time, six people who had gone on foot from Warwan village of district Kishtwar to Anantnag in South Kashmir have gone missing. Confirming this, the Director of Disaster Management, Aamir Ali said that these people had left their house on foot for Anantnag. On reaching Morgan Top, he had informed in his house that it was snowing a lot. This has been more than 24 hours. When the family members called again, they could not talk to anyone. In such a situation, he informed the army, after which an operation has been launched to find him.
