According to consumer ministry data, rice cost Rs 38.07 a kg on Monday, compared to Rs 35.27 a year ago on the same day. Wheat increased from Rs 27.09 to Rs 31.86, Arhar dal increased from Rs 102.75 to Rs 112.38, Urad dal increased from Rs 106.20 to Rs 108.26 and Moong dal increased from Rs 101.66 to Rs 103.86.
The price of sugar increased from Rs 41.84 to Rs 42.45, the price of milk increased from Rs 49.90 to Rs 55.51, and the price of groundnut oil increased from Rs 174 to Rs 190 per liter. The price of vegetable oil increased from Rs 136.66 to Rs 143.
