Famous Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with a cheque-bounce case. The actor surrendered in Tihar Jail on February 4th. Recently, reports emerged that Rajpal was very upset when he surrendered and said he had no money. Amidst this, actor Sonu Sood has come out in support of Rajpal Yadav. He has offered him a film and appealed to the entire industry to support the actor.

Sonu Sood Comes Forward to Help

Sonu Sood shared a post on social media today. In it, he expressed his support for Rajpal Yadav, writing, "Rajpal Yadav is a talented actor who has made significant contributions to our industry over the years. Sometimes life is unfair, not because of talent, but because of the cruelty of time. He will be a part of my film, and I believe this is a moment for all of us, producers, directors, and colleagues, to unite. A small signing amount in exchange for future work is not a donation, but an honor." When one of our own faces a difficult time, the industry should remind them that they are not alone. This is how we can show that we are more than just an industry.

This is the entire check bounce case

The check bounce case dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav directed the film "Aata Pata Lapata." To make the film, Rajpal borrowed crores of rupees from a company called Murgli Project Private Limited. However, Rajpal failed to repay the loan on time. The company filed a lawsuit against Rajpal, alleging that the checks he had given him had bounced. The case then reached the court, where it went through the Magistrate's Court, the Sessions Court, and then the High Court.

The High Court granted a conditional stay on Rajpal's arrest in 2024, ordering him to repay the money. In December last year, the actor said he would repay the money in installments, but when he failed to do so, the Delhi High Court ordered him to surrender in Tihar Jail on February 2. Rajpal then surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5. He has been in jail since then.
