Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the 19th match of IPL 2025. After Mohammad Siraj's lethal bowling, Gujarat's team managed to win with the brilliant innings of captain Shubman Gill. After the match, the Gujarat captain praised Siraj a lot and described the bowlers as game-changers in T20 cricket.

Gill praised the bowlers.

Siraj took four wickets for 17 runs in the match. Apart from him, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna and left-arm spinner Sai Kishore also took two wickets each. After the match, Gill said, 'Bowlers change the course of the match. Especially in this format. Many people talk about batting and hitting in T20, but we feel that matches are won by bowlers. That's why bowlers are given a lot of importance in this franchise.'

Gill also praised Sundar.

Gill said, 'We wanted to play shots all over the field. This was the conversation between me and Washington Sundar. Sundar was excited in the match against Mumbai Indians, but with the impact player rule, you have to change your plans at times. The way he batted in this match was fantastic. There was no special conversation between us. We were just thinking about playing good cricketing shots. Once we got a partnership of 30-40 runs, we thought of finishing the game. The energy that Siraj brings during bowling and fielding is great to watch.

Cummins raised questions on the pitch.

At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins raised questions on the Hyderabad pitch itself. He said, 'This is not the traditional wicket of Hyderabad. The ball was skidding here, but the traditional wicket of Hyderabad is a bit hard. It was very difficult to play on this pitch. In the end, this wicket was not spinning as much as we thought. Our score was also not good, but he batted well. His fast bowling was also a bit difficult to play in this match.'

What happened in the match?

Talking about the match, Gujarat bowlers allowed Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, to score only 152 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat registered their third consecutive win thanks to captain Shubman Gill's (61 not out) half-century and his 90-run partnership in 56 balls for the third wicket with Washington Sundar (49 runs). Gill and Sherfane Rutherford (35 not out, 16 balls, six fours, one six) shared an unbroken partnership of 47 runs in 21 balls for the fourth wicket.
