Star wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who led India to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2026, could be in trouble. He made a mistake in the Super 8 match on Sunday that could lead to International Cricket Council (ICC) action. A crucial match was played between India and the West Indies in Kolkata. Samson played an unbeaten 97-run knock, leading India to a five-wicket victory and securing a semi-final berth.

Samson Plays a Match-Winning Inning

Sanju Samson's bat roared in this match. He first reached his half-century in just 26 balls. He then adopted an aggressive approach, scoring an unbeaten 97 runs, laced with 12 fours and four sixes. His strike rate in the match was 194. Samson hit the winning boundary for Team India, but he made a mistake during the innings. In fact, a video is rapidly going viral on social media in which the star batsman, after hitting a four, throws his helmet while sitting on the field, looks towards the sky with both hands outstretched, and thanks God.

ICC May Take Action Against Samson

Sanju Samson's celebration could create problems for him. The ICC Code of Conduct is very strict regarding player behavior. According to the rules, throwing a helmet or bat on the ground falls under the category of misconduct. In such cases, a player may be fined, demerit points, or even banned.

England to face in the semi-finals

India will now face England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5. Defending champions India have reached the semi-finals of the tournament for the third consecutive time and sixth overall.
