The government took swift action after TV presenter Upasana Gill appealed for help on social media. So far, 34 people have died in the violence.

Viral video of Upasana Gill

TV presenter and volleyball league host Upasana Gill made an emergency video through social media and appealed to the Indian government to save her and the team. She said that her hotel had caught fire and she had escaped from the attack of the violent mob. Upasana said, 'I am stuck in Pokhara, the hotel has been burnt, all my belongings were there. I was in the spa when people came with big sticks. I barely managed to save my life.' Upasana Gill said in the video shared with Praful Garg that the situation here is very bad.

Upasana had said, 'Roads are being set on fire everywhere. The protesters are not even sparing tourists. They do not care whether someone is a tourist or someone who has come for work. They are setting fire everywhere without thinking. We do not know how long we will stay in some other hotel. But I request the Indian Embassy to please send this video and message to them. I request all of you with folded hands. Help us. There are many people here with me, and we are all stranded here.' Her emergency appeal went viral on social media, which prompted the Indian Embassy to take immediate action.

Singh Durbar has been completely reduced to ashes. It includes the offices of the PM and ministers. PM Oli's private houses in Balkot and Janakpur, former PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Energy Minister Deepak Khadka's Budhanilkanth house, and Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa's Ratopul residence were targeted.
