Strong earthquake tremors in California, 2 people died; Richter scale 6.4 measured intensity

Earthquake tremors were felt in Northern California at 2.34 pm on Tuesday late night. The earthquake occurred near the Ferndale region of northern California, about 345 km northwest of San Francisco and close to the Pacific coast. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 6.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of this earthquake was at a depth of 10 miles near the coast. The powerful earthquake was strong along the northern coast of California, causing more damage there. There was extensive damage to roads and homes in the surrounding Humboldt County.

 

2 people died

At least a dozen people were reported injured, while two others died, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office. The earthquake cut off electricity to many homes and caused a gas leak in the city, a building caught fire, which was quickly extinguished. Two other buildings collapsed as well. According to the sheriff's office, people who were injured in the earthquake were taken to the hospital. Many have suffered head injuries. One man's hip bone is also broken.
