The organization's Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan has expressed the apprehension that some countries of the world may see another wave of Covid infection due to Omicron's XBB subvariant. He said that there may be more than three hundred subvariants of the dangerous Omicron virus all over the world. It's a topic of concern This strengthens the apprehension that a wave of the Coronavirus can be seen in some countries.

 

3- He said that the data of Corona Covid patients from any country does not indicate how severe it is compared to the new variants of Corona. However, the World Health Organization is keeping a close watch on the BA.5 and BA.1 variants of the coronavirus. During this, he has also stressed the need to monitor and track the coronavirus. Dr. Arora said that we need to monitor and track this dangerous virus. Recently, there has been a decrease in the investigation of corona across the country. Genomic surveillance has also been reduced over the past few months. We need to maintain at least a strategic sample of genomic surveillance so that we can continuously track variants.

 

4- Dr. Arora says that as the virus mutates, its symptoms also change rapidly. Like Omicron, the symptoms of this virus are very similar to the symptoms of a cold. The initial symptom of Omicron is a sore and itchy throat. This is also the main symptom of its infection. Two days after these symptoms appear in the body, cold, headache, and muscle pain start. At the beginning of corona, dry cough used to be the main symptom of the corona. This symptom is still present, but its intensity has decreased significantly. They believe that due to the strengthening of immunity due to vaccination, the respiratory problems of the patients are decreasing.

 

5- Dr. Arora says that even scientists do not know why the symptoms of corona are changing so quickly. Some experts believe that the symptoms of corona are becoming mild due to the vaccine being administered to a large part of the population. Omicron is already mild due to its mutations. Omicron patients have up to 25 percent lower risk of hospitalization and death compared to Delta. According to scientists, the vaccine has strengthened immunity behind the mild symptoms. Lockdown in China
