The corporate world lost 'Nagina', Keshab Mahindra, former chairman of Mahindra Group breathed his last at the age of 99

Famous industrialist of the corporate world and former chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra Keshub Mahindra passed away this morning. He took his last breath at the age of 99. INSPACe Chairman Pawan K Goenka has confirmed this on his Twitter handle.

 

In a Twitter post, Pawan K Goenka, former managing director of the Mahindra Group, remembered Keshab Mahindra saying, "The industrial world has lost one of the tallest personalities today. Mr. Keshav Mahindra has no match; the best man." I had the good fortune of knowing him."

 

The less said about the achievements of this industrialist in the corporate world. In addition to turning the assembler of Willys Jeep completely, being included in the Forbes list of top industrialists at the age of 99, being a member of the Supreme Advisory Council of ASSOCHAM, he has many achievements to his credit.

 

Ideal for industrialists

Keshab Mahindra was one of the few industrialists in India who made his achievements in almost every field, not just automobiles. He led the Mahindra Group for 48 years as chairman and steered it from an automobile manufacturer to other business sectors such as IT, real estate, financial services and hospitality. In addition, he was instrumental in forging business tie-ups with global companies such as Willys Corporation, Mitsubishi, International Harvester, United Technologies, British Telecom and many more.

 

In the corporate world he was the founder chairman of HUDCO, and also served on several boards including SAIL, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, IFC, ICICI and HDFC.

 

SIAM paid tribute

In a statement, Vinod Agarwal, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said the Indian automobile industry has lost one of its pioneers. SIAM and the Indian Automobile Industry condole the demise of a true visionary and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Please tell that Keshab Mahindra was also the president of SIAM in 1964.

 

Included in Forbes list in 99 years

Even at the age of 99, Keshab Mahindra hoisted his flag. A few days ago, he made his place in Forbes magazine. He was the owner of approximately US$1.2 billion.
