In addition, he was instrumental in forging business tie-ups with global companies such as Willys Corporation, Mitsubishi, International Harvester, United Technologies, British Telecom and many more.
In the corporate world he was the founder chairman of HUDCO, and also served on several boards including SAIL, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, IFC, ICICI and HDFC.
SIAM paid tribute
In a statement, Vinod Agarwal, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said the Indian automobile industry has lost one of its pioneers. SIAM and the Indian Automobile Industry condole the demise of a true visionary and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Please tell that Keshab Mahindra was also the president of SIAM in 1964.
