There is no sign of any fewer problems for Team India in the Test series between India and England. First, the team's star batsman Virat Kohli was out of the first two matches and then India had to face defeat by a close margin in the first Test. Now it is difficult for the team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to play in the second test match.
Jadeja was run out by Ben Stokes on the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad. When Jadeja was returning to the pavilion after being out, it seemed that he had some problem. Now it has become clear that he has a hamstring problem and it is difficult for him to play in the second match. Team India had to face defeat in the first match due to Jadeja's run-out. His wicket proved to be the turning point of the match. With the second Test scheduled to start on February 2, it is difficult for India's number one all-rounder to play in Visakhapatnam.
Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer in India's first innings with 87 runs and also took five wickets in two innings. Jadeja's hamstring muscles have been strained. He was trying to run fast in the second innings and could not complete this run. Ben Stokes's accurate throw sent him to the pavilion. Just before getting out, he immediately realized that there was some problem with his hamstring. Jadeja was not looking comfortable and head coach Rahul Dravid has not clarified anything about his injury.
"We'll see. To be honest, I haven't got a chance to talk to the physio yet. Once I'm back, I'll talk to him and see what's the matter," Dravid said in the post-match media conference. " How serious the hamstring injury is determines how long the player will remain out of the field. Even if it is not an injury and just a strain, Jadeja may still be advised to rest for at least a week.
The time between the first and second Tests is very short. It will be difficult for Jadeja to recover from fatigue and injury in just four days. It is still not clear whether Jadeja will accompany the team to Vizag or go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Jadeja also missed a Test match in South Africa last month due to back spasms on the morning of the first Test in Centurion. If Ravindra Jadeja is out, Kuldeep Yadav may get a chance in the second test. Kuldeep Yadav along with Ashwin and Axar Patel will bring variety to the spin bowling and it may be difficult for the England batsmen to read them.
