Some parties including RLD, MIM, YSRCP, RJD, BJD and Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) are in favor of reducing the age limit. Many MPs of the BJP and Congress also want time has come to reduce the age limit. Sources say that the central government has started brainstorming seriously in this regard. India is a young country, but the government believes that after 2030 the average age of the people of the country will start increasing. That's why the next 7-8 years are such that more and more youths can get a chance to reach the Parliament or Legislative Assemblies as people's representatives.
Therefore, it is necessary to take a decision soon on this issue. The average age of the country's population is 25 years, which is 10 years younger than in China and 15 years younger than in the US. That is, no big country in the world has youth power like India. Even India will not be left with it in the coming 20 years. That's why the government believes that revolutionary changes can take place by giving maximum opportunities to the youth.
