This was followed by an investigation by the Health Department, Animal Husbandry Department, and Forest Department. Their samples were tested to confirm the case of anthrax infection." "

 

 

He said the health department was taking immediate steps to stop the spread of anthrax. It affects naturally occurring bacteria in the soil and usually when they come into contact with domestic and wild animals. The Health Department said that people who went to retrieve and bury the carcasses of wild boar are being monitored. They are also being given necessary preventive treatment, he added.

 

Health officials said special care should be taken if animals, including wild boars, are found to be dying in mass. Also, people have been asked not to go to such places. He also requested the people to inform the authorities if any such case comes to the fore.
