Mucormycosis (black fungus), another disease in the country among the corona, is increasing every day. This is the reason why many states have declared it an epidemic. On Thursday, the Telangana and Tamil Nadu governments have informed about the notification of Black Fungus in the epidemic act. Earlier on Wednesday, the Rajasthan government declared it an epidemic. The Haryana government has already taken this decision. Now the central government has also asked all the states to notify black fungus under the epidemic act.

The reason for the concern of the governments about black fungus among the corona is that the disease is spreading rapidly and the eyes of the infected are going to light. Even many patients are dying due to this.

This situation of black fungus in major states is-

Rajasthan: So far 400 people have lost eye light due to black fungus in the state. About 148 people have been infected by this in Jaipur itself. 100 cases have been reported in Jodhpur. 30 cases are from Bikaner and the rest are from Ajmer, Kota, and Udaipur. Seeing the situation worsening, the government on Wednesday declared Black Fungus as an epidemic. Now the government will have to keep an account of every case, death, and medicine of black fungus.

Madhya Pradesh: In the last 27 days alone, 239 patients of black fungus have arrived in Bhopal. During treatment, 10 patients have died, while 174 are admitted to hospitals. Out of these, 129 patients have undergone surgery. However, the government is reporting only 68 patients in Bhopal. While 585 patients are being reported across the state. The disease has not yet been declared an epidemic.

Chhattisgarh: The number of black fungus patients in the state has reached close to 100. 92 patients are being treated in hospitals. A maximum of 69 patients is admitted to AIIMS. Out of these, 19 have been operated. The government has not yet declared it an epidemic.

Haryana: There are 177 patients of black fungus in the entire state. Haryana was the first state to declare this infection as an epidemic. The state drug department has also banned the sale of steroids.

Delhi: Black fungus patients have crossed 300 in Delhi. Due to a lack of injections, these patients now have to undergo surgery. In AIIMS, 75 to 80 patients have been admitted in the last week. The condition of 30 of these patients is very critical.

White fungus is more dangerous than black fungus in Patna

In Patna, which is suffering from corona and black fungus, now the infection of white fungus (candidosis) has also become a problem. 4 patients with white fungus, many times more dangerous than black fungus, have been found here in the last few days.

White fungus is the main cause of lung infection. Apart from the lungs, it also infects the skin, nails, inner parts of the mouth, stomach, intestines, kidneys, genitals, and brain. It infects the body through the nose or mouth.

Symptoms of lung infection in white fungus resemble those of corona in HRCT. It becomes difficult to distinguish between symptoms of both diseases.

The white fungus can infect the lungs of corona patients who are on oxygen support.

Black fungus is spreading

When giving steroids to corona infected, their immunity decreases. The sugar level suddenly rises. The skin of the nose, face, and soles becomes numb. Fungus accumulates near the veins of the eye, which stops the blood flow of the central retinal artery. Due to this, the eyesight of the patients gets lost.
