In the last 24 hours, 21,880 new cases were reported in the country and 21,219 patients were cured. During this 60 infected people died. At the same time, the number of active cases has reached 1,49,482. Earlier on Thursday, 21,566 new cases were found in the country.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Odisha are the states where more than one thousand new cases were recorded in 24 hours. In Bengal alone, 2,486 new cases came in the last 24 hours, and 6 infected people died. The maximum number of 27,755 infected are being treated here. Bengal has now come on top in terms of new cases. Earlier Kerala and Maharashtra were on top.
The positivity rate crosses 10 percent in six states
There are six states in the country where the positivity rate is more than 10 percent. These states include Assam, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Bengal. The positivity rate was recorded in Assam - at 10.83%, Sikkim at 13.23%, Nagaland at 10.38%, Meghalaya at 16.71%, Himachal at 12.94%, and Bengal at 16.24%. In the remaining five states except for Bengal, even though the positivity rate is more than 10 percent, but here the daily cases are below one thousand.
Corona is not stopping in Maharashtra-Tamil Nadu
Maharashtra remains a corona hot spot. Daily cases are coming here above 2 thousand. On Thursday, 2,289 new cases were reported in the state, 2,400 patients were cured and 6 infected people died. Here the positivity rate is 5.04%. That is, 5 out of 100 patients were found infected. 14,519 patients in Maharashtra are currently undergoing treatment.
Here, even in Tamil Nadu, Corona is not taking its name to stop. On Thursday, 2,093 patients were found positive here, and 2,290 patients were cured. However, only 1 patient died. The positivity rate in the state was recorded at 6.04%. Since the initial phase of Corona, more than 35 lakh cases have been found here, while more than 34 lakh patients have been cured, and 16,504 patients are being treated. So far 38,031 infected people have died here.
