Union Health Ministry Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that in the last 24 hours, about 31,000 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. The reduction in Covid cases is still there but the pace at which we want the reduction. Probably not slowing down at that pace. The second wave of the corona is not over yet. He said that it is necessary that we still maintain the Corona Protocol. We should also ensure that the expansion of Covid vaccination is promoted rapidly. Out of the 31,000 new cases that have been reported, most of the cases have come from Kerala and Maharashtra.

 

The Union Health Secretary said that the number of active cases of the corona has decreased. At present, there are 3 lakh 01 thousand (3,01,000) active cases in the country. The recovery rate is 97.8 percent and this rate is increasing continuously. At present, more than 1 lakh active cases of corona are from Kerala. Along with this, Maharashtra has the highest number of active cases of the corona. There are more than 40,000 active cases here.

 

There are active cases of corona between 10 and 17 thousand in four states of the country

 

There are four states in the country where there are between 10 thousand and 17 thousand corona cases. According to the Union Health Ministry, these four states are Karnataka, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. In the remaining 30 states and union territories of the country, there are less than 10 thousand active cases of the corona.

 

The second dose of the corona vaccine has been given to 21 and a half crore people

 

Giving information about the corona vaccination being run in the country, Rajesh Bhushan said that so far about 62 crore people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccine, 21 and a half crore people have received the second dose. 99 percent of health workers have received the first dose and 84 percent have received the second dose. Along with this, he told that 100 percent first dose has been given to frontline workers and second dose to 80 percent people.
