The Supreme Court ordered the Yamuna River Board to hold a meeting regarding the water crisis in Delhi

The Supreme Court has asked the Upper Yamuna River Board to call an emergency meeting with all stakeholder states to resolve the water crisis in Delhi. The Supreme Court asked the board to hold a meeting on June 5 to find a solution to the water crisis in Delhi.

 

The Supreme Court has fixed June 6 as the date for hearing the petition of the Delhi government seeking additional water from the neighboring state of Haryana and has sought suggestions on the proceedings of the meeting and the steps taken.

Let us tell you that the Delhi government knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court on May 31 regarding the ongoing water crisis in Delhi. The Delhi government had demanded from the court that it should order Haryana to supply more water. The AAP government of Delhi had told the court that the demand for water in the city has increased due to the scorching heat and the neighboring state of Haryana should be directed to supply additional water to us for a month.
