Sri Lanka, which is facing an economic crisis, is under threat of attack by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, ie LTTE. Recently, Indian intelligence agencies have given inputs to the Defense Ministry of Sri Lanka regarding this. According to Indian input, LTTE can carry out some major incidents on 18 May.
Sri Lanka has also tightened its security after receiving intelligence inputs from India. Sri Lanka says that it will also investigate this matter. The Hindu newspaper had published a report regarding this. However, initially Sri Lanka's Defense Ministry denied this report, saying that it did not receive any input from India.

Mano Ganesan, leader of Tamil Progressive Alliance and opposition leader from Colombo said – The Hindu's report on LTTE regrouping is very disturbing. What are the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam?
The LTTE started raising its head in the 70s in Sri Lanka. LTTE was a movement for an independent Tamil state separate from Sri Lanka. Gradually, the LTTE movement was becoming fierce and violent for its demand.
In 1983, LTTE killed 13 Sri Lankan soldiers in Jaffna. Because of this violence further erupted. The violent confrontation between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan army started increasing. As a result, the civil war started in Sri Lanka.
A peace agreement became the reason for Rajiv's assassination
After the peace agreement, Indian Army personnel remained there till 1990. 1200 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in this operation. This was the decision that later became the reason for Rajiv's murder. The latter took strong action by the Sri Lankan army and started brutally crushing the movement and by 2009, the movement was completely abolished.
