Bandh to register protest against Supreme Court's decision

For information, let us tell you that Dalit and tribal organizations across the country have called for a Bharat Bandh on Wednesday to register a protest against a decision of the Supreme Court. The National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organizations (NACDAOR) has released a list of demands, which includes demands for justice and equality for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC). NACDAOR has requested the government to reject this decision as it is a threat to the constitutional rights of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The organization is also demanding the passage of a new law by Parliament on reservation for SC, ST, and OBC, which should be protected with inclusion in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Recently, the Supreme Court made a big decision with a majority of 6-1. In this, the implementation of sub-quota in the SC-ST community was justified. Along with this, the bench had suggested implementing the creamy layer formula in SC-ST reservations like OBC reservations.
