Amid the Ukraine war, India once again gave a message to both countries to return to the path of dialogue. Speaking at the ongoing G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, PM Narendra Modi also gave a strong message to the western countries. The PM said that India's energy security is important for the development of the world and the world should care about it. Speaking in his first address at the G20 summit on Tuesday, he said, "We must not promote any restrictions on the supply of energy, and stability in the energy market must be ensured."
PM's strict message in front of Biden
This message of PM Modi was directed toward western countries including America. Since Russia attacked Ukraine, the western countries led by America have imposed various sanctions on it. They are also affecting the energy supply. Top world leaders including US President Joe Biden were present when PM Modi gave the message of not promoting sanctions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a return to the path of "ceasefire and diplomacy" to resolve the Ukraine dispute. At the same time, he opposed promoting any restrictions on the supply of energy amid calls from Western countries against Russian oil and gas purchases. Addressing a session of the annual G20 summit, Modi said global challenges posed by climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Ukraine crisis have created havoc in the world and global supply chains have "collapsed".

Referring to India's upcoming G-20 presidency, Modi said he was confident that when "the G-20 meets on the land of (Gautam) Buddha and (Mahatma) Gandhi, we all together will bring peace to the world." In a session called on food and energy security, Modi underlined the impact of global problems and said that there is a crisis of essential commodities all over the world and the challenges have increased for the poor citizens of every country.
No restriction on energy supply should be encouraged: PM Modi
Modi said India's energy security is important for global development as it is the "fastest growing economy in the world". Market stability must be ensured.” The session was attended by several world leaders including US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The prime minister called for no restrictions on energy supplies amid calls from Western countries against purchasing Russian oil and gas in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. India has been buying Russian crude oil at subsidized rates. Modi said India is committed to clean energy and the environment. "By 2023, we will generate half of our electricity needs from renewable energy sources," he said at the summit in Bali, Indonesia. The inclusive energy transition requires a sustainable supply of timely and affordable finance and technology to developing countries.

On the Ukraine conflict, he reiterated his call to resolve the crisis through dialogue. The Prime Minister said, “I have said time and again that we have to find a way for a cease-fire in Ukraine and to return to the path of diplomacy. In the last century, the Second World War wreaked havoc on the world. “He said,” After that, the leaders of that era seriously tried to walk on the path of peace. Now it's our turn. The responsibility of building a new world order after the Covid-19 global pandemic is on our shoulders.
The Prime Minister said the need of the hour was "concrete and collective resolve" to ensure peace, harmony, and security in the world. Modi said that during its chairmanship, India will work to build a global consensus on all major issues. Prime Minister Modi also praised Indonesia for its leadership of the G20 in a challenging environment.
Modi said, “Climate change, the Covid-19 global pandemic, and Ukraine crisis and the global challenges arising out of it… all these together have created havoc in the world. Global supply chains have collapsed. “The Prime Minister said,” There is a crisis of essential goods all over the world. The challenges are greater for the poor citizens of every country.
