Racial remarks were made to Indian spectators during the fifth Test between India and England in Birmingham. Now Warwickshire County has taken very strict steps regarding this. He will take the help of spies to keep racism and discrimination away from cricket.

The second T20 match is to be played between India and England at Edgbaston on Saturday 9 July. Undercover crowd spotters will be deployed in this match. These people will be in the middle of the audience and will be on alert to catch any such incident involving racism or discrimination. Along with this, more policemen will also be deployed for this match.

 

What happened during the fifth test?

 

Team India's fan wrote in his post on social media that India fans are facing racial abuse at Eric Holly's stand. At the same time, another user had also told in the post that he had to face racism during the match between India and England. He had never experienced anything like this in any other match. After the matter came to light, the England and Wales Cricket Board and Edgbaston officials also apologized and assured to conduct an investigation.

The England Board had posted on social media saying that we are deeply saddened to read this and we strongly condemn such behavior. We are concerned to hear reports of racist abuse in Test matches. We are in contact with Edgbaston officials who will investigate the matter. There is no place for racism in cricket.

 

Players have also become victims of racial remarks

 

During the Sydney Test played in Australia in 2020-21, Australian spectators also made racial remarks against Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah. Siraj-Bumrah had to fall prey to comments for two consecutive days in the Sydney Test. After this, the team management complained to the match referee David Boon. Cricket Australia (CA) later apologized to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Team India.

 

6 people were kicked out of the stadium

 

Following Rahane's complaint, field umpires Paul Raphael and Paul Wilson informed the police. After this, the New South Wales (NSW) Police took 6 people out of the stadium.
