Retail Inflation Data: There is no relief from inflation, retail inflation increased to 7.41 percent in September

Retail Inflation Data: There has been a jump in retail inflation for the second consecutive month. In September, the retail inflation rate increased to 7.41 percent. Retail inflation stood at 7 percent in August and 6.71 percent in July. A year ago, in September 2021, the retail inflation rate was 4.35 percent. There has also been a jump in the inflation rate of food items. Food inflation reached 8.60 percent in September, which was 7.62 percent in August. In September, there has been a jump in food inflation in both urban and rural areas.

 

Huge jump in food inflation

Food inflation increased once again in September. Food inflation has reached 8.60 percent, which was 7.62 percent in August. Whereas food inflation was 6.75 percent in July and 7.75 percent in June. Due to the huge jump in the prices of vegetables, the inflation rate of vegetables has been 18.05 percent in September as compared to 13.23 percent in August 2022.

In September, there has been a huge jump in retail inflation in both urban and rural areas. Retail inflation in urban areas stood at 7.27 percent as against 6.72 percent in August, while retail inflation in rural areas stood at 7.56 percent as against 7.15 percent in August. Food inflation in urban areas stood at 8.65 percent as against 7.55 percent in August. Whereas, the inflation in rural areas has been 8.53 percent in September, which was 7.60 percent in August.

 

EMI will be expensive!

Retail inflation has again gone above 7 percent, which is higher than the RBI's tolerance level of 6 percent. Due to inflation, RBI has already increased the repo rate by 1.90 percent in 5 months, due to which people have been hit by expensive EMI. After the increase in retail inflation, the fear has subsided whether the common people will get relief from the expensive EMI or not.
