Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday launched a major attack on the central government. He called the new National Education Policy (NEP) a saffronisation policy. Stalin said that this policy aims to promote Hindi instead of the development of India. He alleged that this policy threatens to destroy the education system of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin said in Tiruvallur, "The National Education Policy is not an education policy. It is a saffronisation policy. This policy has not been made for the development of India but for the development of Hindi. This policy will destroy the education system of Tamil Nadu. That is why we are opposing the policy." If it brings everyone under the ambit of education, then the policy is welcome
CM Stalin said, "We are asking you for a share in the tax. We have paid for it. What is the problem with this? Is it right to threaten without releasing funds for the welfare of 43 lakh schools? Since we did not accept the NEP, they are refusing to release funds for Tamil Nadu.
If it brought everyone under the ambit of education, we would have welcomed this scheme. But is NEP like this? NEP has all those factors... which keep people away from education. That is why I am opposing the policy.
Alleged of imposing Hindi
Tamil Nadu is opposing the three-language formula of the National Education Policy (NEP). The state government has been accused of imposing Hindi under this pretext. CM Stalin argues that the policy gives priority to Hindi over regional languages. This will reduce the autonomy and linguistic diversity of the state. He said that Tamil Nadu has adopted a two-language policy. In this, Tamil and English are the primary languages.
The Center gets irritated.
Stalin Stalin further said that if a state government is doing good work, the central government should support it. But is this central government doing so? They are jealous that Tamil Nadu is doing well. They are irritated that the DMK is protecting Tamil Nadu. That is why they are engaged in creating obstacles and humiliating us in every way. Can we remain silent after seeing this? ...
Stalin also accused the central government of taking political revenge and undermining the development of Tamil Nadu. He said that the state has been a leader in implementing various schemes and has made significant progress in the last three years.
