Hyderabad, Jan 27 (IANS) Three more people died of swine flu in Telangana Tuesday, taking the toll to 25 since last month.
All the three deaths were reported from Gandhi Hospital here. A woman from Ranga Reddy districts and a man each from Hyderabad and Nalgonda died at the hospital, which is serving as the state nodal centre for swine flu.
As many as 52 people were tested positive in a single day Monday, taking the total number of cases to 414.
State-run Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) director L. Narendranath told reporters that 16 deaths were reported this month alone.
He said 90 blood samples were sent to Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) Tuesday.
The official said 1,156 samples were tested for swine flu so far and 414 were found positive.
He said all steps were being taken to check the spread of swine flu and hoped that with the increase in temperature, the number of cases would come down.
