Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann tied the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur on Thursday. This marriage took place in the CM's residence according to Sikh customs. MP Raghav Chadha and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal were also present at the wedding. Kejriwal performed rituals like a father in marriage. CM Bhagwant Mann bore the expenses of organizing the wedding. Bhagwant Mann's mother Harpal Kaur wished that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should resettle her house. After this, the CM agreed to the marriage. Mother and sister Manpreet Kaur herself have chosen the girl for CM Bhagwant Mann. Before becoming the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann was a two-time MP from Sangrur. Bhagwant Mann's wife is close to his family. Bhagwant Mann and Gurpreet Kaur have known each other for a long time.

This is the second marriage of Bhagwant Mann. Mann's first marriage was with Inderpreet Kaur. Bhagwant Mann's son Dilshan Mann (17) and daughter Seerat Kaur Mann (21) live in America with their mother Inderpreet Kaur. On 20 March 2015, Bhagwant Mann and Inderpreet Kaur filed for divorce by mutual consent in court. Mann's argument in this application was that he is getting divorced from his wife due to politics.
