Britain's Sunak government has reached an agreement with the European Union to resolve a trade dispute with Northern Ireland. The UK government has also informed about this agreement. Britain's government says it has agreed on a deal with the European Union to resolve its long-running trade dispute over Northern Ireland.

Significantly, this agreement between Britain and the European Union is being seen as a breakthrough in the dispute that has soured post-Brexit relations and given rise to a political crisis in Northern Ireland. However, the Sunak government is now awaiting a decision from the Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland. The Democratic Unionist Party is boycotting the region's power-sharing government. This opposition party wants a change in the business system.

In the Brexit agreement, Britain had agreed to the provision that some EU rules would continue to apply to Northern Ireland even after Brexit. It was said to be aimed at fulfilling the terms of the Good Friday Agreement between pro-independence groups in Northern Ireland and the British government. The new provision would have brought customs declaration and other restrictions on the movement of food between Northern Ireland and the UK after April 1. That's why Britain had now postponed the implementation of these rules. He has said that this step has been taken so that the businessmen of both places become confident and accustomed to these rules.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday announced a new deal with the European Union (EU) to resolve the post-Brexit trade dispute with Northern Ireland. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was also personally present with Sunak in this last round of talks. Sunak said after the meeting that we have been successful in making a decisive agreement in this direction. Together we have changed the original agreement. Here's announcing the new Windsor Accords.

What was the dispute?

The two sides have been at loggerheads over the trade status of Northern Ireland following the Brexit deal for Britain's withdrawal from the European Union. Under the Northern Ireland Protocol, an attempt was made to give a new dimension to the business relationship between Northern Ireland, part of the UK, and Ireland, which is part of the European Union. The controversy was created because this relationship could not be smooth. However] the new agreement will have to be ratified by the Parliament of Ireland. The next challenge before the British Prime Minister will be to get the support of the Northern Ireland Democratic Unionist Party on this deal.
