Train Accident Howrah New Delhi Route 53 bogies of a coal-laden goods train derailed near Gurpa station between Koderma and Gaya Junction of Grand Card Saxon on the Howrah-New Delhi route. The incident happened at 6.24 am on Wednesday.
The train was going from Hazaribagh to Dadri with coal
According to preliminary information, it is being told that the goods train was going to Dadri via Hazaribagh Road, Koderma Junction after loading coal from Hazaribagh. After Gajhandi station, 52 bogies of a goods train derailed one by one between Yadugram halt and Gurpa station due to a steep slope in the Ghat section of the railway.
Train operation stalled on the Howrah-New Delhi route
Following the incident, operations on both the Up and Down lines of the Howrah-New Delhi route came to a standstill. Dhanbad-Gaya Intercity and Gaya-Asansol Passenger trains have been canceled. Further, many more passenger trains can be canceled or can be run by diverting the route.
DRM from Dhanbad is also preparing to reach the spot
After the incident, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's accident relief vehicle from Gomo Junction reached the spot. There is also news of DRM reaching the spot from Dhanbad in some time. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

It will be worth mentioning that after Gajhandi there is an area of the steep slope of Ghat Saxon about 30 km till Grupa. This area is considered very vulnerable from the point of view of the accident. In the past also there have been cases of derailment of trains here.
