Train Accident: Kanchanjunga Express reached Sealdah, victims shed tears as soon as they saw their loved ones, expressed their pain

The Kanchanjunga  Express, which had crashed near Jalpaiguri railway station in West Bengal on Monday, reached Sealdah railway station in the early hours of Tuesday after the repair work was completed. As soon as the people waiting at the station saw their loved ones, tears welled up in their eyes. Meanwhile, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim talked to the train passengers inquired about their condition, and gathered information about the incident.

 

Let us tell you that on Monday, a freight train hit the Kanchanjunga  Express train standing near Jalpaiguri from behind. Three bogies were badly damaged in this accident near Rangapani and Nijbari. 15 people died and more than 60 people were injured in the accident. However, in a statement issued by the Railway Ministry, the death toll has been reported to be eight and the number of injured to be 25.

 

Fear in the minds of passengers after the accident

 

Vaishali Bhattacharya, a passenger aboard the Kanchanjunga  Express train that reached Sealdah railway station, said that she was in the S-7 bogie when the train crashed. All the passengers were sleeping in the morning. Everyone woke up due to the sudden jolt. It was found that the accident happened in the rear coaches. The parents are also worried after the accident. After the repair work, the train left for Sealdah, he could not sleep again on the train, because after the accident, there was fear in his mind.

 

The central government is waiting for people to die: Firhad Hakim

 

After talking to the passengers, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim talked to the media. He said that a help desk has been set up for the convenience of the passengers. All the employees of the Transport Department, Ministers and Secretaries are here. All the injured are undergoing treatment. During this, he also targeted the central government. Hakim said that the BJP-led central government is not doing anything. They are playing with the lives of the people. The people sitting in the central government are waiting for people to die by not paying attention to this issue. All this is because the BJP government wants to privatize the railways.

 

The driver of goods train crossed the signal: CPRO

 

Eastern Railway CPRO Kaushik Mitra said that a doctor, food, and ambulance have been arranged for the passengers. We have also arranged more than 10 beds at the railway station. Prima facie it seems that the driver of the goods train crossed the signal, due to which this rail accident happened.

 

Will use ambulance if needed: Sealdah DRM

 

Sealdah DRM Deepak Nigam said we have taken information about the condition of the passengers. Doctors and the RPF team are also on the spot. We also have ambulances on standby, we will use them if needed. Medical booths are also here for the guidance of passengers.
