Police have taken sedition action against three Kashmiri students in Agra, UP for celebrating Pakistan's victory in the T20 World Cup. These students were caught on Wednesday. All the three accused will be produced in court today. It is alleged that these students celebrated and raised anti-national slogans on the victory of Pakistan in the India-Pakistan match in the T20 Cricket World Cup.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said in Gonda on Wednesday that anti-national activities will not be tolerated. After this, 3 cases were registered in Agra, 3 in Bareilly, and 1 in Lucknow in cases related to the celebration of Pakistan's victory and anti-national slogans. In this, a total of 11 people were arrested after registering an FIR.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha filed a case
Kashmiri students Arshad Yusuf, Inayat Altaf, and Shaukat Ahmed Ghani study at RBS Engineering College in Agra. They are accused of celebrating Pakistan's victory in the T20 match and raising anti-national slogans. A case was filed against them by the regional minister of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Braj province, Gaurav Rajawat.
Arrests made based on digital evidence
The police on Wednesday night extended Section 124A (sedition) in the case registered against the three students after taking legal opinion. The three accused students will be produced in court on Thursday. According to CO Lohamandi Saurabh Singh, the accused Kashmiri students have been arrested based on digital evidence.
The college management has been suspended
The three students have already been suspended by the RBS college management for making derogatory remarks on India's defeat. In this case, there was a ruckus in the college by BJYM on Tuesday. After this, Hinduist organizations also demonstrated the arrest of the accused. After which a case was registered at Jagdishpura police station.
