Because of the increasing cases of monkeypox in the country, the central government has issued necessary guidelines. These include 21 days of isolation, covering the wounds, and wearing a triple-layer mask. Apart from this, the government has floated a tender for making testing kits and vaccines to test monkeypox.

So far 4 cases of monkeypox have been reported in the country. Of these, 3 patients have been found in Kerala and 1 in Delhi. So far 4 suspicious cases have also come to the fore. All the samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune. However, the report has not come yet.

Health ministry guidelines:

The monkeypox-infected patient will have to remain quarantined for 21 days.

Along with wearing a face mask, keep washing your hands. Mask should be worn in three layers.

Keep wounds completely covered. He will have to stay in the hospital until he is completely cured.

Health workers who come in contact with an infected patient admitted to a hospital ward or any contaminated material of a suspected patient are not to be out of duty unless they develop any symptoms. However, monitoring such health workers for 21 days is very important.

The infection can be spread by coming in contact with a monkeypox patient, making physical contact with him, or coming in contact with contaminated things like clothes, bedding, etc. It is very important to avoid this.

Vaccine maker companies prepare test kits: Center

The central government has also started preparations to deal with the monkeypox. The Center has asked vaccine maker companies to first prepare diagnostic kits for monkeypox so that the disease can be detected quickly and accurately. Along with this, it is also necessary to prepare a vaccine to deal with the disease. Work should be done on this as well. For this, ICMR has also sought proposals from companies.

The first case was found in Kerala

The first case of monkeypox in the country was found on July 14 in Kollam, Kerala. After this, the second and third cases were confirmed in Kerala itself on 18 and 22 July. All these three patients had returned from Gulf countries. After this, on July 25, the fourth case was confirmed in Delhi. However, this patient has no travel history. He had returned from Manali after partying. At the same time, 4 suspects have been identified in Telangana, Bihar, UP, and Delhi so far. Their samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune.
