Tripura: 'Can you recognize your CM?', President Murmu talks to tea garden workers

President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday inaugurated the National Law University (NLU) at Narsinghgarh in West Tripura district after arriving in the northeastern state on her first two-day visit. Murmu arrived in Agartala at 11.15 am and was received at the airport by Chief Minister Manik Saha, Governor Satya Narayan Arya, and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik. He was given a guard of honor by the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) at the airport. From the airport, she had gone to Narsinghgarh to attend the inauguration ceremony, which was also attended by the Chief Minister and Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Inderjit Mohanty. Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath was also present in the program.

 

 

President Murmu interacts with tea garden workers

Thereafter Murmu visited the Durgabari tea garden of the Mohanpur subdivision of the district and interacted with the tea garden workers. The President asked a female employee, do you send your children to school? Send your children to schools regularly. Are you getting the benefit of free rice and other government schemes?

 

 

President Murmu asks gardeners to identify CM and MLA

President Murmu also asked the gardeners whether they could identify CM Saha and local MLA Krishnadhan Das among those accompanying him. To which he replied in the affirmative. They are local contact them if you have any demands or problems. MLA Das later told reporters that the conversation was remarkable. He said that for the first time a President visited our tea garden. It was a great feeling.
