President Draupadi Murmu is coming on a two-day visit to Tripura on Wednesday. During this, she will inaugurate several development projects. This is Murmu's first visit to the Northeast after becoming the President. The President will arrive at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport at 11.15 am on Wednesday. A Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) official said that the President will flag off the Agartala-Kolkata passenger train from Agartala railway station on Thursday.
During her two-day stay, Murmu will inaugurate the Judicial Academy and lay the foundation stone of the National Law University at Narsinghgarh on the outskirts of Agartala, a Tripura government official said. President Murmu will be received by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) at the Town Hall, where Chief Minister Manik Saha, Mayor Deepak Majumdar, and cabinet ministers will be present. The President also plans to meet leaders, dignitaries, and the general public.
She will go to Udaipur on October 13 to offer prayers at the Tripuraswari temple. After this, the President will leave for Guwahati. Security has been tightened in Agartala and its surrounding areas because of the President's visit.
