Virat in worst ODI form: Iyer became the top ODI scorer of 2022, know 5 records made in the second match

Former India captain Virat Kohli was dismissed for 5 runs in the second ODI against Bangladesh. He could only score 9 runs in the first ODI. In 10 ODIs this year, he scored an average of just 18.90. He could only score 2 fifties. Couldn't even touch double figures in 5 innings. He averaged 31.80 in 2008. He made his debut in the same year. Then in 5 matches, he could score only 2 fifties.

 

After 2008, Virat could score runs at an average of 36.64 in 2015. But, during this, he had scored 2 centuries and a fifty. Apart from this, his average was not less than 43 in any year. It is clear from these figures that Virat is in the worst phase of his ODI career since his debut. Virat could not score a single century in the ODIs of 2020 and 2021. But in 9 matches played in 2020, he scored an average of 47.88, including 5 fifty. In 2021, he played only 3 matches. In these also he scored runs at an average of 43 and scored 2 fifty.

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehdi Hasan Miraj scored a century while batting at number 8 in the second ODI. He played a not-out inning of 100 runs on 83 balls. Along with this, he equaled the highest score in ODIs while batting at number 8. Ireland's Simi Singh scored a century while batting at number 8 against the West Indies.

 

Mehdi also took 2 wickets in bowling. He was awarded player of the match for this performance. He was also the player of the match in the first ODI. He won the team by one wicket by sharing a 51-run partnership for the 10th wicket. The name of England's Sam Karan is also included in this list. Who played a not-out inning of 95 runs against India? However, he could not win his team.

 

Mehdi-Mahmudullah's record partnership

Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Mahmudullah of Bangladesh made a record partnership for the 7th wicket. Both handled the Bangladesh team, which lost 6 wickets for 69 runs in 19 overs. He shared a 148-run partnership for the 7th wicket on 165 balls. This is Bangladesh's highest partnership for any wicket against India.

 

Before both, Anamul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim shared a 133-run partnership for the third wicket in 2014. Afif Hussain and Mehdi Hasan Miraj have done the biggest partnership for the 7th wicket for Bangladesh. Both had a 174-run not out partnership against Afghanistan this year.

 

Shreyas became the top scorer of 2022

India's Shreyas Iyer played an inning of 82 runs in the second ODI. But, he could not win his team. Despite this, he became the highest run-scorer in the 2022 ODI International. He scored 721 runs in 16 matches this year.

 

Iyer is followed by Shai Hope and Shamar Brooks of the West Indies among the players of the Test-playing nation. Both have scored 709 and 694 runs in 21-21 matches. Joe Root is England's top scorer in Tests. He has scored 1069 runs in 13 matches this year. Talking about T20 International, India's Suryakumar Yadav is on top. He has scored 1164 runs in 31 matches played this year.

 

Siraj became India's top wicket-taker

India's Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets in the 2nd ODI. With this, he became the highest wicket-taker bowler for Team India in 2022. He has taken 23 wickets in 14 matches this year. He also took 3 wickets in the first ODI against Bangladesh. After him, Yuzvendra Chahal has taken 21 wickets in 14 matches and the famous Krishna has taken 19 wickets in 11 matches.
