The special thing is that just a few hours after Trump's recommendation, the US attacked three important nuclear sites of Iran, after which the government started facing strong criticism in Pakistan.
The Pakistan government suddenly announced on Friday that Donald Trump would be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in view of his role in reducing the recent tension between India and Pakistan. For this, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also sent a letter of recommendation to the Nobel Committee in Norway. But after the US attack on Iran, questions have started being raised on this decision.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam strongly opposed
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded the government to immediately withdraw this recommendation. He said how can a person who has supported attacks on Iran, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon be given the peace prize? Fazal also alleged that the Pakistani rulers made this recommendation after Trump's meeting with Army Chief Asim Munir.
Trump is no peace ambassador - Former MP Mushahid Hussain
Former MP Mushahid Hussain strongly criticized Trump and said that Trump is no longer a 'peace ambassador' but has become a 'war supporter'. He demanded the Pakistan government to withdraw the Nobel recommendation and said that Trump has trapped himself in the clutches of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the war lobby.
A stain on Pakistan's credibility - Rauf Hasan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Mohammad Khan also questioned this recommendation and called for 'reconsideration'. At the same time, the party's think-tank chief Rauf Hasan called it shameful for Pakistan. He said that the US attack on Iran is a blatant violation of international laws and nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize is a stain on Pakistan's credibility.
Former ambassador also expressed displeasure
Former ambassador Maleeha Lodhi and writer-activist Fatima Bhutto also expressed strong displeasure over this decision. At the same time, senior journalist Mariana Babar criticized the government and said that this decision has further tarnished Pakistan's image on the international stage.
