Turkiye Earthquake: More than 25 million were sick in Turkey and Syria after the earthquake, rescue operations completed

A convoy of 14 trucks from Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), a free medical aid organization, has entered Syria's earthquake-hit northwestern region. The area was hit by a devastating earthquake on February 6 which caused a huge loss of life and property. Rescue and relief teams from outside were not allowed into the rebel-held area. MSF has informed us about the entry of his convoy into the affected area.

26 million people need medical attention

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has said that 26 million people in Turkey and Syria need various types of medical care. This needs immediate attention. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has predicted famine and epidemics in the earthquake-hit region of Syria. Due to the non-availability of outside help, a large number of dead bodies are buried in the debris in the area and there is no food or medical facility for the homeless people. In such a situation, the possibility of tragedy has arisen there.

The medical team allowed going to rebel area

MSF medical teams have been allowed into rebel-held territory following a WFP alert. The doctors in the team will give medicines along with treatment and will also operate if needed. WFP director David Beasley said the Syrian and Turkish governments are cooperating fully. Effective steps are being taken to improve the situation.

Turkey announces completion of the rescue operation

The Turkish government on Sunday announced the end of the rescue operation, despite reports of people being pulled out alive from the rubble 12 days after the quake. Now the work of removing the debris and rebuilding the buildings in their place will take place. It is feared that many people are still buried under the debris. It is feared that most of these people died two weeks after the earthquake. But some families still haven't given up hope. Every day they are going closer to the rubble-reduced buildings, trying to clear the debris and calling out the names of the missing in a loud voice now and then. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blanken has reached Turkey and is holding talks with the government there and is preparing a framework for assistance.
