This is the reason that at the DGP headquarters level, the arrangements being made in all the districts are being directly monitored. ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that 250 companies of the Central Armed Police Force will be deployed for counting of votes on March 10. Apart from this, 61 company PACs, 625 gazetted police officers, 1807 inspectors, 9598 sub-inspectors, 11627 chief constables and 48649 constables will be on hand.
36 company central force will be on guard of EVMs and 214 company central force will be on duty for counting of votes and law and order. Strict instructions have been given to the police officers of all zones, ranges, and districts regarding security arrangements in and around the counting place. Along with this, an additional police force will be ready in all sensitive areas. Strict instructions have also been given not to take out victory processions anywhere after the counting of votes. Instructions have been given to deal strictly with those found guilty of any kind of malpractices.
The counting of votes will begin at 8 am on March 10. Because of this, instructions have been given to increase patrolling at sensitive places in all districts from the night of March 9.
