UP Election 2022: By the end of this month, Amit Shah will come in the role of Chanakya for BJP in UP. That is, the Home Minister will take charge of the election strategy. In the two-day Lucknow tour, Amit Shah will brainstorm on the party's preparations for the elections. Five separate meetings have been held. But first on the agenda is the membership drive. BJP is starting a campaign to make new members. This time BJP is fighting to save power in UP. Whereas last time this fight was to come to power after fourteen years of exile.
Amit Shah was the President of BJP during the 2017 elections. Then he did many experiments. His every bet was a super hit. From social equation to crematorium and graveyard. Many big leaders of Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati's party were included in the BJP. The result of which was that the government was formed with a thumping majority of the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tied the head of the victory to Amit Shah.
Once again a big challenge before Amit Shah is to make a roadmap for BJP's victory in UP. He has started this work. Amit Shah is reaching Lucknow on 29 October. In his last visit, he had laid the foundation stone of the Vindhyachal Corridor in Mirzapur. In this tour, he has to lay the foundation of UP victory. The situation in UP has changed a lot in five years. The game of electoral politics and its rules have also changed.
Last time people had voted against the Akhilesh government for the BJP. This time BJP has to ask for votes in the name of its work. The agenda of Hindutva is different and so is the social equation of castes. Omprakash Rajbhar has left the BJP and Sanjay Nishad's party has now entered the NDA.
BJP is starting its membership drive at the end of this month. The party currently has 2.5 crore members. The target of the party is to make 4 crore members. This means that about 1.5 crore new members will have to be made now. This is what Amit Shah has given the first task to the BJP leaders of UP. There are about 15 crore voters in UP. The party believes that if four crore members are made, then including the family members associated with them, seven to eight crore people can be from the BJP. If this happens, about 50 percent of the voters will become supporters of the party.
The second biggest challenge before Amit Shah is the biggest headache. This work is to cut the tickets of the useless MLAs. Those MLAs whom the party can lose if they contest elections. It is being said that there is an anti-incumbency wave against such leaders in their area. The voters of his constituency are angry with him. But considering cutting the ticket of such MLAs is no less than an ordeal.
All such leaders also have their patrons who are either from the BJP or are in the RSS. Many have already started lobbying to save their tickets. According to the information received so far, the party has conducted several surveys in different ways. Based on these surveys, at least 125 MLAs can be on leave. There are also some districts where the chances of any MLA getting a ticket again are equal to zero.
