Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets due to the excellent performance of the batsmen after the bowlers. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and scored 162 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai won the match by scoring 166 runs for six wickets in 18.1 overs. No batsman could play a big innings for Mumbai, but the team performed well in bits and pieces and succeeded in winning. This is Mumbai's third win in seven matches and it is in the seventh position in the table with six points. At the same time, Sunrisers have faced their fourth defeat in seven matches and it is at the ninth position with four points.

 

Hyderabad yearns for a win outside home.

This is Mumbai's 29th win at Wankhede while chasing the target. At the same time, Hyderabad has not won a single match at any other venue so far. Earlier, they were defeated against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. After that, defending champion Kolkata defeated them at Eden Gardens.

Rohit Sharma, who came in as an impact player while chasing the target, gave the team a good start along with Ryan Rickleton, but Rohit once again got out after scoring 26 runs without playing a big innings. Rickleton was moving towards big innings, but despite getting a lifeline once, he could not take advantage of it and returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs. Then Suryakumar Yadav also got out after scoring 26 runs. Tilak Verma and captain Hardik Pandya played some good shots and brought the team closer to victory.

 

Mumbai was one step away from victory.

 

At the start of the 18th over, Mumbai needed two runs to win and Tilak took a single on the first ball, but Hardik was out on the next ball. Hardik scored 21 runs. Naman Dheer, who came in as the new batsman, was out on the fifth ball without opening the account and the wait for Mumbai's victory increased.

 

Verma hit a four to seal the victory.

 

Tilak hit a four on the first ball of the 19th over to give Mumbai the win. Tilak returned unbeaten after scoring 21 runs with the help of two fours in 17 balls. Captain Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly for Sunrisers Hyderabad and took three wickets. Apart from him, Ishan Malinga got two, and Harshal Patel got one wicket.

With the brilliant batting of Aniket Verma in the last over, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 163 runs in front of Mumbai Indians. Hyderabad's batting was slow, but Aniket took 22 runs from Hardik Pandya's over in the 20th over. For Hyderabad, opener Abhishek Sharma scored the highest 40 runs with the help of seven fours in 28 balls.

 

Batting first, Abhishek and Travis Head gave a good start to the team and did not let Mumbai get any success till the powerplay and added 59 runs for the first wicket. Hardik Pandya gave the first blow to Hyderabad by dismissing Abhishek. After this, Hyderabad's innings faltered. Ishan Kishan could not perform well in this match as well and was out after scoring two runs. Travis Head got a lifeline once, but he could not take advantage of it and was out after scoring 28 runs with the help of three fours in 29 balls.

 

Nitish Kumar Reddy also returned to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs. Later, Heinrich Klaasen opened his hands and took the team's score beyond 130, but Bumrah bowled him and sent him to the pavilion. Klaasen scored 37 runs with the help of three fours and two sixes in 28 balls. Then Aniket Verma performed brilliantly which helped the team score to cross 160. Aniket scored 18 runs with the help of two sixes in eight balls and captain Pat Cummins returned unbeaten after scoring eight runs with the help of one six in four balls. For Mumbai, Will Jacks took two wickets, while Trent Boult, Jaspreet Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya got one wicket each.
