US President said, Russia cannot erase a sovereign country from the map; Appreciated the voting of UNGA

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday praised the vote against Russia and the resolution passed in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The resolution condemned Russia's annexation of four Ukrainian territories. In a statement issued by the White House, the US President said that today most countries in the world represent their respective ideologies and a wide range of governments. All have voted to defend the United Nations Charter. Condemned Russia's illegal attempt to annex Ukraine's territory by force.

 

Russia can't change borders by force: Biden

 

The US President said that Russia is breaking the very foundation of international peace and security. He also said that the stakes of this struggle are clear to all and the world has sent a clear message in response. Russia cannot remove a sovereign nation from the map. Russia cannot change borders by force. Russia cannot seize the territory of any other country as its own.

 

We are all united against Russia

 

It has been almost eight months since this war. Biden said the world has just shown that we are all more united. We are also more determined than ever to hold Russia accountable for its violations.

 

stand in favor of sovereignty and territorial integrity

The US President said that 143 countries stand in favor of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Even more than the 141 countries that voted in March to explicitly condemn Russia's war against Ukraine.

 

35 countries including India did not participate in the voting of the UNGA

Biden's statement came soon after 143 members voted in favor of the motion in the 193-member assembly. Five countries have voted against the resolution, while 35 including India did not participate in the UNGA vote.
